The Adriatic Coast of Italy
We'll Meet in Rome, then drive east through the countryside, past the fabulous Gran Sasso, and then spend a few days in Abruzzo. We’ll have plenty of time to stretch our legs on the beach and/or the mountains on this trip, before we finish up north of Bari.
The focus of this tour will be Olio Nuovo. We'll step foot into at least 6 olive oil mills during a time of year that can't be beat--just weeks after harvest is complete. If you've never had oh-so fresh olive oil before, this will be an eye-opening experience. And don't worry...there will be plenty of pasta and pizza, with great country wine to wash it all down. We'll certainly like to do some winery prospecting too…
❋ Where We'll Be
Rome, Monterotondo, Pescara, Trani, Polignano e Mare, Bari, and lots of other small villages in between.
❋ Where We'll Eat
An incredible pasta place in and industrial zone, fresh seafood next to the Adriatic, a small farmhouse kitchen, and just one time—we’ll cook at home for you!
❋ Super Cool Extra Stuff
You’ll learn to use a chitarra, get an inside look at street art, do a professional olive oil tasting, and get an architectural walk through a small village.
The Kickoff DetailsArrive & Meet
We’ll organize ourselves in Rome to start this tour, and after a short drive from the airport, we’ll lunch together over pasta in a locals-only restaurant.
Our onward journey will start just after our second really strong coffee id downed.
