Before the Greenwich Meridian, there was a different one that was platted by Cassini in the 17th century and runs from the north of France through Paris, deep into the countryside, and comes out in Barcelona.

This tour is for those in need of a Spring Break (excact dates TBD), and wanting to see parts of France that the less intrepid fail to see.

Included of course will be a terrific exploration of food and drink, historical markers, the beauty of maps, and a peaceful, tranquil north to south drive as France begins to awaken from its winter slumber.

Madeira

Here’s the way this one will go: We’ll meet in either Porto or Lisbon for a night or two, then hop a direct flight to the shockingly beautifuil island of Madeira. Our exact dates TBD by whoever signs up.

We’ll stay in a private home the entire time so you can immerse yourself a little bit, while combining it with one outing each day— a botanical garden, a hike, a wine tasting (or two). You get the idea…

A Brittany walking tour

an ACTIVE tour that would be done exclusively by train, and on foot.

It will be in Brittany, and include some of the most fantastic sections of the GR 34, also known as the Sentier de Douaniers. This is some of the most handsome terrain in Europe, it meanders along coastal villages and ports, and leads to fantastic island hopping too.
