    The Beta Trip

    Tuesday October 28th-Monday November 3rd, 2025

Yeah, so I have what I think is a pretty good idea here, and before I go whole hog on this thing, I’m looking for 5-6 willing participants that will live it with me for a week.

This trip will be a regional week following the entirety of the Loire, which is interesting because that will actually put us in 3 different regions in France. We’ll start in the Rhône-Alpes, about an hour south of Lyon, head northward then west through the Centre Val de Loire, and finish up at the Atlantic ocean in the Pays de la Loire.

This will be a 7-day/6-night jaunt using regional rail, and including incredible walks above and along the river.

An introductory rate of €3500 per person, all trains, meals, and lodging included.

    The Grand Est

    Tuesday May 26th-Monday June 1, 2026

Two of my very favorite regions to both eat, and taste wine, are found in the northeast of France—Champagne and Alsace. These two distinctly different wine regions are linked by one of the best regional rail networks in the country, and I’m always amazed at how far afield one can get without using a car, plane, taxi or uber.

The tour will begin and end in Paris, but along the way we’ll get off the beaten path for some memorable meals, winery visits, cheese eating, and day-hiking in the Vosges.

This tour is open to any participant ready to do some epic food and wine touring over a week on and off the train, and with a healthy walk every day to work it all off.

A per person rate of €4500, including all trains, meals, and lodging.

  • Map of France highlighting its regions and major cities with the names written in white and red text.

The ALL IN Tour of France

    Tuesday September 22nd-Friday October 2nd, 2026.

This is the one. I’m betting there are 10-12 of you out there that are ready to convene with like-minded, curious, food and wine loving people to spend 10 days covering the whole hexagon.

And really. Why go small if you can go big??

We’ll start in Paris and work our way clockwise around this amazing country, and finish in Brittany. Along the way you’ll get a sense of France like can’t be done in any other way excpet by train and on foot.

This will be a grand opportunity to revisit what Curnonsky did over a century ago–cover the whole hexagon in search of provincial France.

Per person, this will be €7500 and will include all trains, lodging, and meals.
