i added madeira to a tour of portugal about 7 years ago on a whim. And have been back a half dozen times since!
Such is the allure of this astonishingly beautiful place, with a slow pace of life, colorful buildings, active markets, and simply delicious food and wine
this tour can be as active as you want. prefer to sit next to the pool or on the beach? Done. Want to feel like you’re deep diving a place, and getting to know it better? This one’s for you.
we’ll put together some nice things to do, but at the end you might just want to stay on a little longer!

Nearly the entire trip on the island of Madeira, a Portuguese territory in the Atlantic about a few hundred miles off the coast of West Africa.

In the neighborhood restaurants on Funchal, beach town seafood joints, upland restaurants in Laurel forests, plus some good cooking on our own, at our own private home!

A visit to a Rum distillery, exploring Madeira wine, a hike in a Laurel forest, walks on the beach, an organic farm accessible only by cable car, and loads more….
The Kickoff DetailsArrive & Meet
We’ll gather you all at the Porto airport and then find our way to the Afurada neighborhood where we’ll get to know each other of a seafood fest.
Our onward journey will start just after our second really strong coffee id downed.
