Three days—Just us
Two or three or four of you are already in Paris for a 2-week trip of a lifetime. You’re food and wine lovers and you want to get out of the city for just a short jaunt. You want to deep dive with a recovering wine importer, soak up the countryside, meet a few winemakers, and get an insider’s tour that simply can’t be found anywhere else.
Here are two schedules that could be a lot of fun!
Alsace
Day One ~ Depart Paris in the morning, with a stop on the way for lunch in an unusual city like Metz or Nancy, followed by a short walk in the countryside before arriving in Colmar, where we’ll stay for 2 nights. Dinner in Colmar or a small nearby village accessible by local train.
Day Two ~ a morning train into the Vosges, maybe the Munster Valley, for a personal wine tasting, then a hike, then a lunch in the fresh mountain air. Return through another wine village to taste some more wine, and finish in Colmar for a classic choucroute or baeckhoffe.
Day Three ~ Our third and final winery visit will be followed by a short hike then one more traditional Alsacienne meal before returning to Paris.
Total Estimated cost person: €2900 with all three lunches, two dinners, two nights, and train transportation included.
Champagne
Day One ~ Depart Paris in the morning, exit the train and make a short hike to a winery. Following a tasting, walk to lunch where maybe they’ll join us! Check in to a hotel in Reims.
Day Two ~ a morning train into the Montagne de Reims for winery visit #2 followed by a traditional small village lunch. Walk to another winery after lunch then train back to Reims for dinner at a wine bar.
Day Three ~ Train out of the city into the Champagne countryside and take a morning hike to an off-the-beaten path winery. Have lunch together then hike to our onward train.
Total Estimated cost person: €3200 with all three lunches, two dinners, two nights, and train transportation included.
