this tour will cover 8 days and 7 nights as we take a north to south route that starts in dunkerque and finishes on the Spanish border.
we’ll do some walking each day, travel from point to point in a comfortable passenger van, sleep in comfortable, but not luxury hotels, and eat and drink locally the whole way.
This will be a cool trip for history buffs, but also for those that would like to see partis of France that people just don’t often go.
If “off the beaten path” turns you on, then this is the trip for you.
❋ Where We'll Be
We can start in Dunkerque, having arrived there from either Amsterdam, Brussles, or London. From there we’ll hop into a comfortable van, and head south on old Longitutude ZERO.
❋ Where We'll Eat
Country cafés and family inns. Don’t look for Michelin star on this trip. Instead we want real, provincial French cooking. And tasty local wine all along the way.
❋ Super Cool Extra Stuff
Look, we’ll need to cut through Paris too. So yeah, it won’t be all countryside all the time! But we’ll get our historical fix too, and hopefully do some hiking, and most of all, escape whatever interminable winter you’ve just dealt with.
The Kickoff DetailsArrive & Meet
Depending on where travelers on this tour are coming from, I’d like us to start either in Brussles or London. If the latter, for instance, we could take the Dover to Dunkerque ferry and begin our journey in a waiting van.
Or, we could have a good meal in Brussels (I know a few places), then take a train the next morning down to Dunkerque.
