poitou-vendée

The Vendée is highly valued for its regional products: mogette, brioche, gâche, Vendée ham, and préfou are undoubtedly the most well-known specialties. But the Aiguillon Bay, facing the sea, is especially known for the production of the so-called moules bouchots, and its famous cheese, mizotte.

In the Vendée-Poitevin we’ll also find some of France’s most unique wines and spirits—Fiefs vendéens, Kamok, and the rare and magical liquer d’Angélique, which Curnonsky sipped while he smoked Egyptian cigarettes!
